The dual rotor design extends the flow measurement range due to the high incidence angle on the second rotor, resulting in a turndown of 120:1 on the smallest meter to 500:1 on larger meters. This exceptional flow range allows viscosity curves to blend over a 60:1 turn downrange. This wide flow range often eliminates the need for more costly manifold systems.

When fluid passes through the meter, the velocity of the fluid presses rotational energy on the internal rotor assembly. The rotor blades generate pulses proportional to flow as they pass through a radio frequency field created by a pickup. Each pulse is transmitted to the meter electronics, where it amplifies the pulse output and provides a volumetric flow rate.
