A common interface between the HART®-enabled intelligent level transmitters from NIVELCO and the other components of the process control system, such as the PCs, PLCs, displays, and actuators, is provided by the MultiCONT (MULTICHANNEL PROCESS CONTROLLER) unit. In addition to serving as an interface, the MultiCONT controls intricate activities while ensuring that the 2-wire transmitters are powered. A maximum of 15 regular or 4 Ex ia certified NIVELCO HART®-capable 2- and/or 4-wire transmitters can communicate with the MultiCONT device. 

The maximum number of transmitters in a loop when using MultiCONT with NIVELCO's MicroTREK or PiloTREK microwave level transmitters should not be more than 6 pieces for regular transmitters and 2 pieces for Ex version transmitters. More MultiCONT units can be connected in series through an RS485 line if a system has more transmitters than a single MultiCONT unit is capable of handling. The MultiCONT allows for the remote programming of the transmitters as well as the downloading of the settings and measured data.
